A tale of two houses

Srinivasa Ramanujan's house on Sarangapani street, Kumbakonam.

The house was bought by SASTRA university and is now maintained as a heritage monument.

Ramanujan's room possessed apart from his bed, a brand new shirt hung on the wall. There was also an Atlas cycle parked in the kitchen. It couldn't be helped wondering whether these belonged to the math wizard too. A lot of hilarity ensued about some less mentionable things as well.

Tyagaraja's house in Tiruvayyaru.

This is ofcourse, Tyagaraja's renovated house. Maybe nobody cares for a little history these days.

I can almost hear Tyagaraja singing "Endaro Mahanubhavulu" in irony.
