Gone Digital.. Finally

Got a goddammn Canon EOS 400D.. Finally. All thanks to my brother for the sponsoring. 550 Pounds or something.. All I can promise is that I'll make voracious use of it... I was getting rather restless (and broke too) with all the cash being spent uselessely on the old EOS 300 for the film, developing, printing and them other rituals. 'bout 300Rs is what it comes to per roll of 36 exposures.. and for somebody who's done a mysteriously astronomical number of them in the last half-a-decade since the shutter-fanaticity.. It was was indeed leading to desperation. They're all going digital. Goddamn slidefilm is no more.. You'll need to rummage through bloddy refrigerators to find outdated packs of something like provia or selsia or velvia or ektachrome.. and if you do get your hands on some.. you'll not only have to wait a week to have it processed (They do slides once a week only).. and it comes at a pretty much daylight robbery price of Rs 250 (to Rs 40 that of Negatives) and it's only at a couple of places (Rk, Prabhu Digital ) where it happens. Frankly, Not worth it the least. It's probably only to a niche group of professionals to whom film still matters.. For ones who really need to have the choice of the wide array of films (no more though).. ie IR films, blah blah blah..etc. And ofcourse the ever faithful old schoolers who're but reluctant to go digital due to some absurd compulsion.. To me, this was all I wanted.. All I need now is a few good lenses. My next camera will definetely be a full-field (probably they'll all be..by then) pro-series one . Eos 1D mark II or something.. about 4 years away atleast. Will goto one of these people at National Market sometime nxt week.. get a 220EX speedlite, 50mm f/1.8 and maybe (philanthropists..charitable people.. other generous people alike) for a 500mm f/4 sigma. Lets see how it goes. This friend of mine was gracious enough to let me have his camera bag .. which's a huge relief.. although I need to figure out ways to pay him, 1750 (I've paid him 500 ).
