Three videos, for a severe case of #youprefer.
Specimen[0]: Dr Rajkumar, "Aradhisuve Madanari" from "Babruvahana"
Utterly puntastic song, from the movie Babruvahana (1977).
This song neatly fits into the Kharaharapriya scale of Karnatak classical music and fittingly rendered by Rajkumar himself.
Specimen[1]: Sivaji Ganesan, "pATTum nAnE, bhAvamum nAnE" from "Thiruvilayadal"
Elsewhere, Sivaji had already attempted this in the '60s.
This is a beautiful composition sung by TM Sounderarajan and maps to a rAga pretty close to the Rajkumar song - Gaurimanohari, which is just one swara off from Kharaharapriya.
Specimen[2]: BalamuraliKrishna, you name it.
These all-in-ones must have been quite a trend at some point.
While Dr Raj did the vocals + acting, and Sivaji just the (over)acting :P, Balamuralikrishna literally does *everything* here.

The piece performed here is a Syama Sastri krti in the rAga sAvEri.
